Professional Experience
Capital One: Data Science PhD Intern (San Jose, CA, June 2025 - Aug 2025)
- Applied and benchmarked 10 temporal attribution methods (attention-, gradient-, perturbation-, activation-based) to quantify the contribution of each time point in sequential-data recommendation systems, enabling precise attribution of ad influence on user decisions.
- Built and optimized a multi-GPU training and testing pipeline for a Transformer-based recommendation model on production data, and partnered with the deployment team to deliver a minimum viable product, accelerating readiness for production deployment.
Capital One: Data Science PhD Intern (San Jose, CA, June 2024 - Aug 2024)
- Applied permutation- and perturbation-based attribution methods to a Transformer-based recommendation model, identifying the top 5 of 40 key features and enhancing model interpretability and trust.
Lead Engineer and Advanced Engineer in Infosys and Rolls-Royce (India, Jan 2019 - Aug 2021)
In both these roles, I was responsible for the stress analysis and life assessment of Titanium and Nickel alloy-based rotating discs in Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. During this stint,
- I took complete technical ownership of the High-Pressure Compressor disc.
- Actively worked to increase the fatigue and damage tolerance life expectancy of components to save the company millions of dollars. This work involved working on high-fidelity finite element models as well as developing algorithms to continuously track fatigue life usage of components in service.
- I also took the role of a technical reviewer for other Engine programs as well as components.
Engineering Graduate in Rolls-Royce (India/UK, July 2017 - Dec 2018)
- As an engineering graduate, I worked in four different teams to get a breadth of the aero-engine design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing.
- Based on my performance, at the end of my graduate program, I was offered to be part of an accelerated leadership program that promoted faster career growth for high-performing candidates.
